It is a Nordic ski jumping area. I visited there three years ago in Norway not far from Oslo. They have a ski museum with some very old skis and bindings. Worth a visit if you have the time.

Looking at the site under construction it wasn't immediately obvious to me at least what its purpose might be.
The central area where something should be viewed by the steep sided spectator type areas, looked ridiculously small,

I just spent a week in Earleville MD right on the Chesapeake. Drove up from FL over the Bay Bridge (scary) what beautiful rolling hills and saw a lot of soy bean, corn, deer, and beer but not in that order!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1255661073.jpg
