LOL, I still have an original hand-made Churchill ski, purchased from Danny Churchill in the early 80's. He held the world speed record for water skiing at 126 mph and bare-footing at one time. He also invented the hydroslide, one of the first wake boards.

It's all wood, inlaid with about 50 different pieces of wood. Heavy as crap but a beautiful work of art. It's hanging on the wall in my brother's pub.

Made me think of my old Connelly ski. I still have it. It, too, is "inlaid with about 50 pieces of wood" & is "a beautiful work of art". And it is also "heavy as crap"!

I haven't water-skied in almost 20 years, but I used to quite a bit. Someday I will ski again!

Anyone have any idea what my Connelly might be worth? I have thought about selling it.

That's a beauty Doug! I've no idea what its worth though.
Wish I had my original ski; it was a wooden connelly too, my Grandma bought it for me.

LOL that Connolly is very close to my Churchill. Same basic look, same design, my might have a little more intricacy to the inlay but other than that they are the same. And I have full boots front and back.

Not very useful anymore but purdy to look at. Can you imagine what a ski like that would cost now with all that labor?
