The South Carolina BMW plant on left, and their customer training track on right.

We bought my son's E36 from an Instructor driver at that plant location.

Tube sheet? You know about these, don't you?
They're seal welds on the tubes to handle the higher pressures, just rolling them wouldn't be enough.
Dunno what the metallurgy is, proprietary. Big secret for some reason.
We had a 400 series stainless exchanger in there, didn't last very long.

Those are similar to the ones the US Navy uses in their pressurized water reactor systems. The radioactive water flows through the tubes and the ones I have worked on were about the same but the overall bundle was shorter. I was part of a crew that plugged 6 tubes in one of the tube bundles on the USS Enterprise while off the coast of Vietnam in 1971 or there abouts. The real worry was getting radiated when you stuck the upper half of your body in the hole so you could work!

Oh yeah, we continued flight ops and bombing the VC while we did the plugging job too!

Strange one...... not so my friend,

'Bavarian women making miniature haystacks. In southern Germany and Austria the farmers drive stakes in the fields. Over these they drape the mown grass, the stakes have 'horns' which hold up the grass. 1945 Bavaria, Germany'

you see Glen there's a reason for everything :D

That is still a funny and strange picture. It is nice to know what is was all about. Thanks!

Around here we just make big round bales and move them with a tractor.

Here is a picture I actually took while I was in Chicago.

Only a pity I couldn't find the theme behind the artiness' of original.
When all the oils gone I suppose we shall have to dry it (hay) like they used to back in the dark ages.

Meanwhile, got any more weird images to share!

There are still bailing machines that run on HORSE power alone. It just takes a lot of human work to get those stacked into the barn.
