I recently sold two Tote-Gotes, a 59 and a 63. they were slow and heavy as heck but could climb straight up a wall if they could get traction with the reduction sprockets. SDGE used to use them to inspect power poles in remote areas. I think they were the first "purpose built" off road bike?

yeah theyre quite the machine. i dont know about the first but definatly the most popular of the utility bikes. got any pics of the ones you sold?

I found a cool picture of my dad with two of my sisters, and myself helping him spread some bark around the yard. I'm guessing this was taken in 1963 or 1964. I miss my pop. :(
