I asked my buddie about the value of these vintage TransAm racers, I was expecting ~$100k, this is what he told me:
"As the Master Card Ad says, Priceless.

Seriously, they are. The yellow/orange Mustang, if I am not mistaken, is now in

the high six figures, or and the two Camaros on the left side are, I believe, owned

by the Edelbrock family, Vic Jr. and his daughter Cammie.

The amount in this photo I can’t even begin to estimate the dollar value."

Steve,
Do you have the story behind this? What happened, besides the obvious? If you have a link, I have some Mustang and Vette buddies that are getting their hearts jump started and want to know more.....as do I.

I didn't catch Craig911's post on it:

Remember the discussion over the CGT fatalities @ Ontario? Sounds like the potential cause of the accident may be similar to this one. Corner workers/flagmen and track layout can be very important.

Thankfully no one seriously injured.

Seems like more and more of this. There was a nearly mile long oil slick down the front straight of Summit Point when I was there in May. My second time on the track and I didn't see it like I should have. The corner workers never threw a yellow until I went off track trying to avoid the sand pit at the end of the main straight.

Where's the training? Where's the Federal Investigation? Oh wait, they're looking into the fact we can see boob on GTA: SA if you really work for it.

I was standing about 50 feet from the first point of impact. I don't know what really caused the pile up. I heard someone got out of line on the rolling start, corrected, and squeezed another car into the wall. I saw a Black vette get sideways first and a Camaro t-bone him. Then the real trouble began. It was unreal. The impact was incredible. It's a miracle there weren't more serious injuries. Cars totally stopped and being rear ended HARD. That was the Blue Camaro and white Firebird. The blue Camaro hit and went halfway up whatever car that's under it in the pic. The white TA hit the Camaro putting it totally on top. The TA went up behind the Camaro. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Not one hour later I was doing the "tour" on the track with my 911. It was pretty creepy passing the area where the obvious remnants of carnage were.

One of a few pics I took within seconds after the crash.
