At first I thought that poor guy just lost his catch to a Tiger shark, but since it was roped through the skull (eye holes), it was bait for a shark anyway. :)

That is a strange photo. A rider is punching the guy and someone in front has a fist ready to throw.

As noted in the photo, european bicycle race fans can get over the top when it comes to their favorite or their un-favorites! Back in the day when Bernard Hinault was winning the Giro in Italy just ahead of an Italian rider, the fans on a climb started hitting him and trying to stick things in the spokes of his front wheel! His team car zoomed in front and opened the doors on both sides hitting dozens of spectators and sending them flying! On the next stage no one tried that again!
