It looks to me like it has its rotors folded and tied inline to take up less space on the ground. Its an eight rotored 'copter, and I ain't seeing the shadows for all eight...

i would think because they are pulled down under slight tension for storage, so the wind can't make em flap abount, and when released swing up higher and clear the tail.
