Yes, John Denver with Jaques Cousteau, likely during the time Denver wrote the song about the Calypso.

Original lineup.

Marshall Tucker Band from right here in SC. Saw 'em on a double bill with Allman Brothers IIRC. And I probably don't.

Great band... Doug Gray's voice will reach out and touch you for sure.

I agree John....they were incredible in their prime.....best concert I ever attended was The MTB in '73-'74 in Ocala but can't remember who opened for them - could have been NRPS or PPL (?) but anyway - wow.....they were friggin' TIGHT and like you said Doug Gray's vocals (and this is when he was young and his voice was very strong and true) would just reach down to your soul. Great music, great band, I'll never forget.

Spartanburg, S.C. was their home. They always announced that when they played - very proud to be a southern band. :)

Doug Eubanks on woodwinds was special as well.

If you browse You Tube you can find some footage of them in their prime such as this:

And this:
Marshall Tucker Band - Take The Highway (Live) - 1973 - YouTube

That gives me chills! Just like listening to Molly Hatchet when they were young and had Danny Joe Brown singing. I am saddened to say that good music is only of days gone by.

With the super ballads, I just cannot seem to get the volume up high enough. I just want to crawl inside the speakers to really feel the music.

Are you kidding me?

This was the best era in our entire civilization for getting laid!

No AIDS!

Sex, drugs, and rock and roll!

Man those day were the BEST!

If someone wasn't getting laid...it sure wasn't because of the music....:D

Looks like someone may have inadvertently kicked the head - which then applied pressure on the joint and cracked the pipe where the glue had softened it.

Most reputable irrigation contractors these days use flex joints to attach all heads.
