Please help me with this. I understood that the canard was a superior design due to stability and preventing a stall. Why didn't it catch on? (Full disclosure - I think I asked this before and I can't remember the answer!)

There are several based at my local GA airport. They go up usually on the weekends and when the weather is clearest, so to me they seem like "fun" or "sport" planes rather than simply transportation. A flying 911 of sorts. So why does a guy buy a 172 for $100K unless he needs it for transportation.

Obviously I'm biased, but I love to watch them cruise, and at the little airport diner you can watch them come in, kneel, and disgorge their passengers!

Re post 67490.

'69 Camaro. No doubt about it. Headlights are farther inboard than the '70 Barracuda.

The canard enables achieving a slower stall speed, but it takes longer to recover from.

Don't ever stall a canard at low altitude.

At least this is what I understand, somebody else with actual experience can chime in and correct me if need be.

No wonder I had never heard of her.

Gina L. Gershon is an American film, television and stage actress, singer and author. She is known for her roles in the films Cocktail, Showgirls, Bound, Face/Off, The Insider, Demonlover.

I have not seen anything she is in.
