When the movie debuted in 1971, I was just a kid living in Castro Valley, Ca. It was a "movie of the week", and our power went out in the last half hour! We had to wait months until it came on as a rerun to finally see the ending.

It was shot all over Santa Clarita and Lancaster area. When I worked on Charlie Wilson's War, the Pakistani refugee camp we filmed at off of Sierra Hwy was the same hilltop location used for the climactic ending in Duel. Too cool!
