While I like body of the Pininfarina bodied Enzo, the white 'snorkel' exhausts look so out of place on that car. More like something you'd see on an MR2 - but certainly not an Italian exotic.

Agreed! I'd think that routing out the back of the car would be relatively easy. I'm betting that the back end would get really nasty with the exhaust there.

I thought there was an article about it in a current issue of some mainline car mag like C&D, R&T, Autoweek,CAR... I don't remember, been in a lot of airports recently.:(

The car has been designed, engineered and built entirely by Pininfarina,
I think Enzo would be turning in his grave if he knew an Asian guy designed a car with his name on it. Not that he was racist in anyway, but what a huge break from tradition for his company.

I like the Enzo, but the whole process was somewhat of a shock.

I agree with masraum, and think perhaps the owner of this one of a kind was of like mind.

Kach --

How to you get "Asian" from "Our designer, Jason Castriota..."

"Jason" might be an uncommon given name for Italians, but I'm willing to bet "Castriota" is not Laotian.

I was refering to the official Enzo, not the recently pictured car (Ferrari P4/5).

Ken Okuyama is the man behind the principal design of the Enzo. This may disturb the purists of Ferrari because Ken Okuyama is a japanese designer and japanese supercars have up until now been considered lesser cars than european rivals.

Car & Driver, Sept. issue has the $4 million Ferrari in it. They loved the car. I kinda thought it was a wretched excess Frankenstein. To each his own. But hey, one pic includes the owner's daughter. You young guys should remember that you can marry more money in 5 minutes than you can work for for a lifetime. It also illustrates why I don't use brokers for my investing. Fees matter! They matter enough that this guy can have a $4 million Ferrari made...

you mean he was ok w/ schumacher insisting the only way he'll move to ferrari is if they also take on japanese engine designers to show them how to properly build a v10 engine and get away from the anitquated v12 in order to be competitive and win championships?

the company's biggest break w/ tradition occurred when michael left benetton's v10's and told ferrari they should forget their v12. after that it was "whatever gets the job done"

I did not know this, I find it very interesting.

So how long before we see a Ferrari Diesel Electric out on the track?:)

}{arlequin 08-02-2006 06:41 AM

yup. f1 has been quite the soap opera circus for some time now...

can you just imagine a german telling ferrari... you ferrari people.... you don't know anything about building engines. so let me bring in some of our japanese engineers to show you how to abandon your best known (but quite useless) feature of all time- the ferrari V12 haha

Click on "images", may have to download a little Quick-Time upgrade, worth it, as I have not seen good patent images like this before.
