Yellowbird, what magazine feature were those assembled for
on a separate note: The newest Pontiac GTO's were a joke, fast yes, but they had the looks of a rental car. An aggressive rental car after they added the hood scoop, but a rental car either way. I am a bit of a GM fan, but I was hugely disappointed by the GTO when it came out. http://www.motordesktop.com/wallpape...201024x768.jpg Now the Solstice, that's another matter. http://www.wallpaper.net.au/wallpape...201024x768.jpg |

Since I am pretty sure transparent aluminum has not made it past the Star Trek fantasy stage, and assuming this is some polymeric plastic (ie. not glass, eeek), I don't think I would want to hit a speed bump very hard or go around a corner with some velocity with those. |
I'll guess polycarbonate, same stuff that is used for bulletproof glass and motorcycle face shields. Plenty strong enough to make rims out of. Strength-to-weight is not as good, so it will be heavier, but it has plenty of impact resistance.
