As an LSU grad and a local resident, I am appalled, embarrassed, and ashamed that LSU would spend that kind of money ($28M) on a LOCKER ROOM, regardless of who paid for it. LSU and the Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) try and spin this that there is no public money involved and it was built with donations only to attract the “best of the best” players. Psh. Trying to justify the expenditure by comparing it to the revenue the football team brings in doesn’t make it right.
We have people 1 block from campus living in houses that should be condemned, others that can’t afford to feed themselves or their children and rely on the local food bank for assistance, among other serious needs in the community. If these donors really wanted to do good with their money, don’t give it to “heros” that can catch a ball or run fast, but can’t read or write.
Priorities....
Sorry. Rant over.
