The track was last repaved in 2004, and was recently refreshed with a polymer sealant and some grinding.

The contraption that the "Buster Keaton" stunt double (the signature on the photo is not authentic) is riding is actually showing the back two wheels of 4 wheeled , towed camera dolly . You can see the spokes and axle mount of left front wheel between his legs . There would be no need for all the steering gear shown in the photo on a two wheeled vehicle.
