The phone number on the boom doesn't seem to work....

Ha... I worked for that company for 10 years. The # seems correct :)

Not me, ever. That type of strength is DNA given...who can hone it, but you can't create it. What a great snippet.

The above is my aviation nightmare...Flight 243:

The National Transportation Safety Board determines that the probable cause of this accident was the failure of the Aloha Airlines maintenance program to detect the presence of significant disbonding and fatigue damage which ultimately led to failure of the lap joint at S-10L and the separation of the fuselage upper lobe. Contributing to the accident were the failure of Aloha Airlines management to supervise properly its maintenance force; the failure of the FAA to require Airworthiness Directive 87-21-08 inspection of all the lap joints proposed by Boeing Alert Service Bulletin SB 737-53A1039; and the lack of a complete terminating action (neither generated by Boeing nor required by the FAA) after the discovery of early production difficulties in the B-737 cold bond lap joint which resulted in low bond durability, corrosion, and premature fatigue cracking.

Flight Attendant: "Would you like a cocktail?"

Me: "Not really, but can I get the Airworthiness Directive 87-21-08 inspection report on this airplane based on the Boeing Alert Service Bulletin SB 737-53A1039?"

Can you imagine? Fat, dumb and happy until the sunroof opens at 24 thousand feet? It gives me shivers. Nothing good happens without an ejection seat at 24K.

Wear seat belts.

Something in that Aloha airlines pic disturbs me... specifically what looks like blood splattered along the outside windows aft of the breach, like someone got eviscerated like a struck deer and bled out during the harrowing descent. (not that it couldn't have been a lot worse) You can almost see the skull print on the fuselage.

But I believe it happened quickly.

I noticed that as well as the emergency slide looks like a vertical drop. The drop distance looks very low though.
