The propellor shaft was an entirely different matter!!
That was a tough cookie to cut and did take more time than expected.

There is no avoiding difficult or hard bits. Once the cable is in position, you get one cut, straight upwards.

Aah, the memories. :)
I was on the platform with the yellow banana shaped structure. (the ‘stinger’ which is used to position the drilling rods and bit next to the wreck to commence drilling)

If I find the time, I’ll try and look up some pics I think I still have on a memory stick somewhere.

So it isn't like a band saw?

Cool video.

So did one insurance company manage to pay for all that or is the insurance spread over many companies. I would have to guess it was over 100 million Euros if not way more. The cost of the ship, the cargo and the recovery has to be staggering. It would be interesting to know an approximate price tag for that collision. 100 or 200 million?

Just curious.

I’m not a financial guy, Glen, so I have no idea about insurance and legal issues.
The money people were still working long after the job was finished at the site, I reckon.

Microsoft Win10 seems to be conducting a social experiment on it's customers:
-When renaming a file, it randomly changes the rules whether or not to apply re-sorting the folder opened.
-This is not consistent.
-When finding a file, it randomly does not look in last-searched or even default to desktop.
-This is not consistent.
-It does the exact opposite sometimes. Randomly.
