Interesting documentary about that guy. "The man whose arms exploded." Really. Pretty gruesome. The interviewer left no doubt that he suffered from lots of issues. Little man syndrome.
When I was hired into a big corporation in West Palm Beach my direct supervisor was 6'8" tall. I am 5'8" tall. He admitted to me that when I first started there I was going to be one of those Little Man Syndrome types.

I laughed, and told him I was happy being small, when I am at my fighting weight I am 155-160 lbs. I am not tall, now think motorsports like Autocross where the car is weighed minus the driver, how much would you do to get another 50 lbs out of your car and weight 50 lbs less than your competition?

How this for random?

Your close. We did a Duffy Lake run and that pic was east of Spences Bridge. Great day.

I knew what it was instantly. I guess that makes me a museum piece. I used to just lay the disk on the table and use my fingernail to center it as the table turned.

This is the White Hawk, an all-aluminum hydrofoil built in the 1950s by the United Kindom's aircraft industry for the express purpose of breaking the world speed record for marine craft. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Derwent engine, which had a thrust-to-weight ratio greater than one. It was essentially a rocket! It utilized a V-wing system in the front and a steerable single foil in the rear.

The XCH-4, "The Carl Boat," had two hydrofoils in the front and one aft on a seaplane-type hull. It used two 250 hp Pratt & Whitney engines as propulsion. During US Navy tests, a helpful citizen called the Coast Guard to report that, "A seaplane has been trying to take off and undoubtably needs help."
