Wow, that's in stark contrast to the ad's they used to run in the 80's! :D

TSNAPCRACKLEPOP 08-09-2004 07:13 AM

can you say "aww *****!!"? what was the outcome of this little oops?

as for the artillery. one of my favorite things to do when in the F/A was to stand a short distance behind the piece and watch the round travel downrange for a bit (a tiny receding black dot) until it disappeared. that was especially cool on direct fire exercises, as one could actually see the round slam into the target. cool stuff

Ronin -
Pilot OK, plane not OK; though nobody on the ground was injured. There are videos around both from the ground and an in-cockpit cam. IIRC the pilot misjudged the altitude (whether he set it wrong or what) to initiate a loop by about 50 feet. Scary shizznit.

Search the OT threads and you'll find when this was originally posted -- that thread contains a link to the videos.

Usually I'm glad when I beat Z-man's censorship. Not this time. :(

Trying to get the hang of what you guys like. Is this still too rough?

Driving Test Question ...

You are driving along a 2-lane road w/a 'No Passing' sign posted. Then you come upon a bicycle rider.

Do you follow this slow moving bicycle rider for the next 2 miles, or do you break the law & pass?

You make the choice.
