Wheel base looks short and the side mounted Jatos are bit over the top.;)

That's the Wingfoot Express. It's real. They added the 10 rockets on the side for a bit more speed .... 476MPH. Can you imagine strapping into that SOB? :eek:

That land speed record stuff is crazy, and that one is near the top of the list. It looks like it paid off though! All it takes is imagination, execution and grande attachments. Thanks for sharing, again I really get a kick out of the old pics you find and share.

Thats sad. Did they keep it in the air? Too often the pilot over-reacts and counters so hard that they get the other wingtip as well.

Buddy sent me the pic,
I was not there so I don't know how it finally went in, just that it did.
Good point he’s losing airspeed but the ailerons don't appear to be showing much correction yet? Hope they are not jammed from the one buried in the dirt. Flaps are down.
