So, if Tiger doesn't "pledge allegiance to the US", who does he pledge it to???http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1101008147.jpg

Dave,
One wonders but anyone who does not pledge allegence to our flag needs to go to another country IMHO. I flew Payne Stewart (along with several of the other golfers) for a while before his death and they are all fiercely patriotic, so this surprised me when I saw it... Joe A |

Ok, rant over....Back to more funny pics please! |
I don't think you have to put your hand over your heart/left chesticle to show respect - hands folded or whatever in front or behind of yourself isn't disrespectful. He could have been a total ass like Tori Smith and turned his back http://www.americandaily.com/article/3709
|
Yeah, you need to put one hand on your chest...it's important....that's one of the first things we were taught in pre-school. It's our heritage. It's our tradition. It is to show respect for our country and our flag and everything it all stands for. If you don't stand for something (especially our country), you'll fall for anything!
|
Dave,
Agree... its just something normal people do when the pledge of allegence is given, like taking your hat off when you enter a building or eat, done out of respect. Surprising the number of actors and people like Tiger who love the money and fame that they receive and yet show little or no respect for the country that helped them attain it. JoeA |
Here's my take on it:
If you have a problem with what our government is doing at any given time, it's your prerogative to not stand at attention, etc, and I think that as Americans we should respect that person's choice. Freedom starts at home, kids.... but what professional athletes like Tori Smith don't realize is that when they stand with their teammates, they are representing their team. Nobody said Tori had to put hand over heart, but blatantly turning one's back is a very clear message and one that shows lack of respect for the TEAM. People have to realize things like that are a black eye for the team as well as themselves |

Freedom of speech is one issue....
Respect to God & country is another issue.... I don't agree with some liberties & things people think should be overlooked or ignored to be politically correct! Edited for content. Pic removed. -Z-man. |

What's that saying about short women with flat heads and big ears..... |

I just thought - who poured the beer? and placed it unspilt on her butt? |
