I bought that shirt back in 1999......when it had the Porsche crest on the front!
Long since removed due to the 'Porsche Reign of Trademark Terror' in 1999/2000...

My friend returned to the bench and finished loading his 30.06 rounds with pistol powder - and a hot one at that. He went out to his range and got a few rounds through before he hit one of the bad rounds. When he woke up about 10 minutes later, his Springfield A1 barrell looked like the one pictured, the stock was split in two lengthwise, and the bolt had sheared the lugs or broken in half, I can't remember which - he said the bolt stop was the only thing that saved him from having the bolt imbedded in his brain. And the Springfield is a very heavy duty action.

ahh, I see now Jeff. The arbor from the bore sight was in the barrel and the shooter forgot about it and fired a live round. Now Myth Busters couldn't get a shot gun to split. They should have used a weapon with a higher CUP number like a 30-06!

One reason I never buy reloads. I HAVE seen a shotgun go like that. Even snow in the barrel will split them or blow the side out of a barrel.. I have seen MANY with barrles bulged from that.

This has nothing to do with reloads; a factory load would have burst the barrel just as easily. By the way, I reload all of my own ammo for all of my guns; no exceptions. Most of them have never had a factory round go down the tube. Over 30 years worth now, averaging several thousand rounds a year in match shooting alone, not to metion plinking and hunting. Never a failure; not one.
