here are just a few recommendations for those that have not yet made the trek:

ditch the beads. they're for tourists. see if you can find a band called In a Minute playing in one of the bars on Bourbon Str. go to the Market on a lazy afternoon to buy some cheap sunglasses. watch a sideshow at the little amphitheatre across from Jackson Square on Decatur. find out what blacksmiths and pirates have in common. have breakfast at 4a.m. chatting with some locals before going to bed


and oh yeah. don't walk through the projects
