I've been trying to find the thread where some kid is trying to make his honda or something go faster in order to beat his friend with a Supra. These two guys created an article where they systematically pulled everything off the car, cut off the roof, stripped it down to nothing and post progressive 1/4 mile times. It's pretty hilarious, yet lost.

Any ideas?
As Harry said it was in Sport Compact, but it was a "remake" of a very old article in one of the U.S. Muscle mags, (Car Craft?), where they took the scalpel to some domestic ride.

"I played pool since I was big enough to lean over the table. Playing straight pool my best run is 2213 balls. It's not easy to run 2213 balls it take a huge a really huge amount of paying attention....." -the leong kid.

Sure does...since the world record is 526 balls...by Willie Mosconi (edit) My semi goof...Michael Eufemia is said to have pocketed 625...in front of witnesses, back in 1960. But it wasn't sanctioned tournament play, and questions exist about the veracity of the report. I'm impressed when I see anybody go past 50 in tournament play. Anybody making a run beyond 50 when playing straight pool on a 9' table? He's a damned good pool player!

Yep, this leong kid was a riot...

So, Leland? Have you had a chance to exercise your Meucci "patriot" stick? Do you still have it?

Reading and remembering that (hillarious) Leong thread, I noticed someone who I haven't seen post here in a long time: Robert Stoll (rstoll).

Does anyone know where he's gone?

Don't know where he went, but I wish that he would come back. He is one funny, southern-fried son-of-a-gun.

I hope that he is well.

On the original topic of the Auto-Cross challenge by the Ricer boy, my brother-in-law is some kind of NC state champ in Auto-Cross in his car category. I know he has a 4-banger with LESS THAN 100HP.

So listen to this: He went to a Corvette club Auto-X and beat the best Corvette by OVER FOUR SECONDS. Granted, these Corvette guys were not the most experienced Auto-X guys in the world.

The moral of the story: Auto-X is 80% technique, and 20% power.
(At least that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.)
