Yes, but nostatic, what about when we run out of electrons? Don't you realize there's a limited supply of ones and zeroes, and when we're all out that's all we get? Make every post count!

My excuse is writing quickly as well. That's why you almost always see "edited by RickM on xx/xx/xx". I proof read it every itme I go back into the thread.

My pet peeve is when someone

writes without any puctuation then they have the gall to ignore capitals when beggining a sentence also when they cant organize their thoughts in a logical sequence i dont have the nerve to throw mispelled words into the mix here no what i mean

BTW, isn't the following another appropriate use of an apostrophe with a year.... '68 or '60s ?

Clear as day, each of my post states: "2¢ worth." Yet, I have not recieved even a penny!

So, the question for the sentence diagrammers is; just how hard should I try?

I miss Roland Kunz's posts . . .broken english and all. To me, content is much more important than "packaging." . ..the "packaging" has done its job when the content arrives in one piece. Bubble-wrap and duct-tape. ..I mean Duck-Tape. . .may be ugly, but they can get the job done.

Side note:
Cam, sometimes wurds are mispeeled for affect. . .tho', I do no, some think this is riDicouLeSs, and just plane RONG!

Guilty as charged-on all counts of grammer and misspellings, but then again English(I mean the 'mericun version) doesn't seem to follow very many rules bacause it's an assorted mix-and-match of many European languages.
-I will be, I am, I was. Three different tense bases for the same verb.
-ghought or goat? Ghyche or fish?
-sea or see?
-question mark within the parenthesis-even though it identifies the sentance as a question?
-what are the rules for pluralizing "y"s to "ies"?
-"winningest" player of the year?

It seems our laguage is still evolving.
I've heard of a study that said that "black" english is moving further(or is that farther?) away from "conventional" mainstream english than it has ever historically been (or should that be "been historically?"). Also each cultural group within the U.S. uses english differently("spanglish", every 5th word in Philippino Tagalog seems to be english, etc, etc...)
Pip pip cheerio!

This has always been a pet peeve of mine. An example expression: Is your e-mail "foobarquux@hotmail.com?" No, of course not -- my e-mail address is "foobarquux@hotmail.com". I know the proper "English" rule of leaving puncuation inside the quotes, but I routinely ignore it because it's often misleading to do so.

As to our schools not teaching decent English anymore, I can vouch for that. I do volunteer work at a local junior high, and those kids kannt rite werth beens. Worse, I try to help, and they tell me that "It doesn't matter, the teacher don't read nobody's papers." Schokking.
