I'll take a "primo" rag and tube airplane any day over a similar vintage spam can.

If you ever have that beauty up this way Joe, you better set her down at OH02 for a visit.

Planning on flying it back to that area next summer in June. Will try to stop by!

From a few years ago. This made a hard left over my house during the Chino Planes of Fame Airshow.

Also from the same airshow

P51's

sorting through pics to load on digital frame for Dad a P51 fan

Not a great pic but the awe part happens because each plane in the formation is a P51. Gathering of Mustangs and Legends Sept 2007

Those polished Cessnas are stunning. My first airplane was a Luscombe 8E Silvaire - polished with dark red trim. I LOVED that little bird - cheapest flying I ever did. Let me tell you though, that my right arm was much larger than my left during my ownership - honestly. I polished that airplane !BY HAND! most of the time. Invariably, I would spiff her up for a flyin or airsho and I always came back at departure time to find some a-hole's hand print somewhere on my freshly polished surface. Sunza*****es! The guy I sold that airplane to still has it. Maybe I should offer to buy it back.

I just looked at all the pages. Great photos! I have some favorite planes but the Lockheed Constellation stands out, IMO, as just one beautiful looking airliner. Kelly Johnson was pure genius!

The Connie always looks like it's doing 100 knots sitting still.

I flew across the Pacific in one in 1958. Was a long trip by today's standard. Here it is on the ground on Wake Island.
