bald eagle in back yard. very rare here...upstate NY. 12/6/09 one of the most exciting days of my life. never seen one until this year and ive seen them 5 times since May 2009 all of a sudden.

srandallf, if you've never seen them in the wild, it moves something in you, doesn't it? Never saw one in Southern Illinois until about 2005. Now I see them almost everyday. But, I do watch for them. I know where there are at least 20 nests are here.

Again, crappy cell phone pics, but the sky looked really cool one day a week ago or so. Lots of really high cirrus clouds and the moon.
