I flew up to Washington this past weekend to surprise one of the other Pelican's son, who is in a band and played at a two day music festival. The son always sends event notices on FB and I joke with him about using his allowance to fly me up...

Since I am currently interested in concert/band photography and trying to get in the door professionally, I managed to swing a photo pass for the pit.

As I was rapping away pix of the last band, a tribute band to Hendrix, I noticed that at times, the spotlight would cast the above shadow of the guitarist on his stack of Marshall's. After firing away a few different times, one of the groups ended up with some person in the audience threw up the Devil's horns and as I was holding down the trigger on the camera, I got lucky and ended up with the above shot. In general, I thought it was a bit different and cool, since I was taking pix of shadows, not the musician himself.

Cool story Dave. I wasn't sure if it was really Hendrix since I didn't think people did the horns back then but what do I know. Then I remembered this was the photos you took thread. Really nice work.
