Hollow core doors are just cardboard inside with a ring of wood. Line up the handle so the hole is centered in wood and trace the outline. Cut off end using 2x4 as saw guide. Remove wood edge from sliver and glue back in place. Chisel and/or router mortice for the hinges carefully. Sand. Stain. Poly optional. Back in business after tenant has a punching match with the apt.

Nice! I thought about doing that to the new disks I'm giving our 78 SC for rust prevention. Although I would need to mask off the disk surface since they are new.
