John Muir hut in the eastern Sierras at 11,995 elevation. Other picture is on the way up to John Muir Pass to the hut. This is my hiking partner, not me. Still lots of snow and ice on the lakes in the upper elevations.

Here is Muir Hut Oct. 1973. I took two, two week trips during that winter gathering weather data with another guy. It started snowing two days later, and we spent about a week traveling south in the snow. This was during the first of the two trips.

Must have been somewhere along the way from our travels from Estes Park up through Roosevelt National Park, down to Grand Lake, and then south to Taos, NM. Guess that covers a lot of ground but maybe that helps.... Couple more from that trip.... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1502909570.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1502909570.JPG |
