They are burning up the forests here this week. Pretty surreal to drive by it like nothing is wrong. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a44869f576.jpg

The city center of Rome is covered in graffiti...even the metro trains are all tagged.

A tree shaker to get fruit off? Those poor trees like like they're more likely to lose their leaves if you shake them too much.

I saw an episode of some cop-investigation show where a tree shaker was used to kill someone.

They're walnut trees. Yes, leaves come down with the walnuts, but the harvester separates most of them out.

Thanks, nuts, that makes more sense than fruit since fruit bruises.

33 years ago I had the bright idea to use Railroad ties to build 16' X 8' planter boxes and steps into a steep hillside in the backyard of my first home, spent a pretty good chunk of a summer doing so.
Little did I know that my wife and I would hang onto that house and turn it into a rental.
RR ties don't last forever, being the cheap dude I am I spent a couple days this summer replacing some of the steps that had rotted out.
Handling RR ties is just as fun as I remember it.

First, cut some ties to length for replacement steps with my trusty Stihl.

Next, bore holes for 3' of 1/2" rebar, level and have at it with a sledge.

Hopefully this will last another 30 + years and will no longer be my worry...
Some more river rock, weeding and and it looked better than this shot.

Makes me think of the Cowboy Junkies song:

My first recollection is a day in December
black iron steam engine covered in ice
like some Precambrian monster
moaning and snorting
Nothing was ever going to beat that beast
in a fair fight

I hope you meant seats at center ice. Who was playing?

Taken at Antique Archeology (American Pickers) Nashville store last year.

No kidding!
That must have been quite an experience seeing and hearing that too.
