Brush fire just south of my Sister and BIL’s along I5.
They were sucking water out of a pond that is maybe 150 yards away their home and dousing it. Neighborhood access to the pond gave me a front row seat. Tax dollars being well spent! Thank you Firefighters!! If it had got away from them my sisters place would have been at risk http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753143548.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753143548.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753143548.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753143548.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753143548.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753143548.jpg |

Garage find. Kinda like a barn find. These are all 70s vintage and full, unopened.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753310804.jpg Once you get past the “Why drink Coors?” question, the next is “Why store in a garage cabinet?” What does skunky Coors even taste like?? Rhetorical,,, |
^^^ :D Brings back memories of the 70s/80s when we'd sneak Coors back to Michigan from Colorado ski trips. It wasn't sold in the east back then so if you had some, it was the beer to have!

Saw this on the counter at the gas station.

Two night midweek mini vacation to Port Townsend, earliest non-native settlement in Washington state and a day trip to Dungeness Spit Lighthouse.
Lots of very cool shops and sights in PT, thriving wooden boat industry, and Fort Worden, one of three "Triangle of Death" Forts guarding the Strait of Juan De Fuca and entry to the Salish Sea and Puget sound. Wiki spiel: Constructed between 1898 and 1920, Fort Worden was one of the largest Endicott Period (1890-1910) forts to be built and a rare example of a post built according to the precepts of the Endicott Board on land not already occupied by an existing fortification. There is an older Fort nearby too, Fort Townsend circa 1856, not much of anything left there, Ft Warden has most of it's concrete buildings and gun emplacements scattered over acres and acres. I'm a fan of old stuff, Forts in particular. The 5+ mile walk out to the lighthouse on Dungeness spit was almost perfect, light breeze at our back, -2.3' tide and lots of beautiful rocks here and there in the sand. The walk back a couple hours later had 20 mph headwind, quickly incoming tide eating all the nice sandy walking and it turned into some serious toil. We were both pretty wiped out when we got to the car. 12 miles altogether on foot that day with the last 3 or so being very difficult. Very glad we did it though! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557291.jpg Yes it is late July, and yes it gets very cool near the ocean until the fog burns off. So much of the country is sweltering and here we are in jackets- crazy! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557291.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557291.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557291.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557353.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557353.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557353.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557353.jpg I find them difficult to keep lit http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753557353.jpg |

Happy to say I can still summit Mt. Pilchuck at nearly 65, first time I did I was 14 and amazed that when I started looking for a prop aircraft I was hearing I spotted it in a valley below the 5,344’ lookout.
Hiked up with a nephew that I used to babysit, he’s 50 now- crazy how time flies😳 From this spot not far from Everett you can see 3 of the 5 Washington state volcanoes, Baker, Glacier Peak and Rainer http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753749962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753749962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753749962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753749962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753749962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753749962.jpg |

Few days ago:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753973808.jpg Dog in the picture was lost. The neighbors son and I were finally able to get her in a barn with food before the rains came. Owner was found as well:) |
I do like happy endings.
Good morning Beautiful! How about if I gently turn your motor over a few times and recheck ALL of your valves? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1754156753.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1754156753.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1754156753.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1754156753.jpg |
