Glad we went to Colorado this year, it's been on my list for at least a decade.
I was not at all disappointed. Did a CC loop starting in Denver and driving to Estes Park for access to the Rocky Mountain National Park then Grand Junction, Telluride, Mesa Verda and Canon City before catching a flight home on a Tuesday midday. No lines anywhere, smooth quick flight that got in early enough to catch a shuttle towards home 90 minutes before the one we booked. Lots of driving, rented a 2025 VW Atlas with adaptive CC and lots of cool features. 2.0L turbocharged engine with 269 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque was a dog off the line but pulled well at 3k and above. Took it to a mining town that had a "rough' access road, happy with ground clearance and the AWD. It got great mileage too, staying with traffic meant rolling right along. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762540962.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762540962.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762540962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762540962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762540962.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762540962.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762540962.jpg |

Afternoon walk-about with the Pup.
Soybeans are off and the deer seem confused. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762554210.jpg Dottie, the pup, is out of the frame but this little guy spent about three minutes giving me the deer eye before he and a buddy danced off. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1762554308.jpg |
Very aware we were up on a cliff top 20' above, neither bothered nor pleased
