August 2023, Vancouver Island, Tofino area BC

Huge beach areas, some rocky, lots nice and sandy, lots of Black Bear, Cougar and even a decent size Wolf population.

Good idea to keep your eyes and ears open, several years back (before it got sooo popular) we were walking on the beach and heard something in the bushes above the beach.
It was a good size Black Bear eating berries and minding his own business within 40 yards of us.
We kept moving, made some noise and he/she stayed put.
Also the only place I've had to hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting one on the highway.

Early August 2022
Yakin it up at Baker Lake

I took an early morning trip up after this one, I launched farther up lake on perfect calm water, not another soul in sight. As I started paddling there was a Loon sitting on the lake that started calling as if on cue, so surreal- Loons are pretty rare around here.

Someone mentioned that they sent their son through college and he now runs a bar, my friend did the same thing, sent his son to FSU, and his son decided to go in the food truck industry, apparently doing well in it.

Pull out a 3.0 case I forgot about, only to find… x

Simon’s weekly cancer doctor visits,

The look I get when he doesn’t think I am moving fast enough to either move his food back to the center of his dish or to give him more.
