Found a pile of bear scat while blowing the leaves off the driveway. My 11” foot used as scale.

that makes my deer and maybe coyote and other scat seem far less interesting.

The pile was 8' tall and 10-12', maybe 15' wide in places.
about half of the wood on this pile had been small green trees in the last 1-2 weeks.
ignition (nothing but paper used, this was maybe 60secs)

4 mins

20 mins

~35 mins

By the time we went to bed it was a hot bed of ash with pretty much nothing visible on top but some metal bits that had been part of gates or fencing.
This afternoon more than 24 hours later, the missus started putting wood on it and the wood caught fire. Because it was so windy, we soaked the thing down until it was muddy ash.

We'll have another pile built up by the time we can burn again.

I think it freaks my wife out too.

In some ways the same and in some ways very different from a T-Rex. Both impressive, voracious predators. One enormous with tiny "arms", the other tiny with enormous "arms".

#3 at Highland Creek GC on Tuesday. It won't look like this tomorrow when Ian arrives. Good luck to all our Florida Pelicans.

Sunset last night. I was lazy, so this is through a double pane window which resulted in some reflections and a ghost moon.

Thanks! That's our old 84' Carrera and it is zinc metallic. It was taken near Mt Mitchell in the western NC mountains.

Gearing up to bounce over to Maui
And rain……. Think shore diving might be a bust. Murky runoff tends to bring in the guys with the grey business suits.
