you'd have to be crazy to discuss either religion or politics here.

Make Tabs a guest moderator for a week. (Check your liability insurance first)

I think your post is beyond the scope of the OT section and should be banished to the "Cayenne used parts" forum.

Seriously, it's fun the way it is.

"Off TOPIC"?!?

I thought OT was "Off Thorazine" by some posts here.

Here I take a break for a couple of weeks (Doom3) and it all goes to pot? Wayne, it's your playground, do whatever you think is best. Me, I'm from the George Carlin school -- if I don't like what's on a channel, I don't tune it in. I'm tired of the impenetrable jingoistic anti-Bush stuff, so I ignore it. If others can't handle that there are those out there who disagree with their opinions, maybe we need to cull them from the herd.

When Bush is re-elected, I doubt things will quiet down much. The Dems have been saddled with a perfectly awful candidate and the crap will continue hereon -- remember the "stolen" election myth that won't die?

I'm all for a boobies forum. I'll even volunteer to moderate.

As I said in the thread referenced above, I think Z-Man should have a co-Inquisitor for OT in any event.

Nope, leave it the way it is. I only have so many hours in my workday to browse Pelican and I don't need additional confiusion

Now, about the babes and orchids.......

I do not see that subdividing will do any good, trolls will be trolls and kids will be kids.

Please move the politics!

EVERY off-topic thread (even thimble collecting) seems to degrade into a politics pi$$ing match: "My Jackass thimble is better than your pachyderm thimble!".

Just tell me where "More random pics......." will be, because that is the only thread worth viewing.

It is hands down the greatest thread ever.

My vote: Leave OT as is.

A "political" subdivision would be an EXCELLENT idea. The forum is obviously overrun by about 10-15 individuals all saying the same tired things every day (FYI: nobody is going to change their vote based upon anything said in the Pelican OT Forum!). I'll 2nd Motion's proposal - let's go with a babes forum.

Hi, I think it's a good format the way it is.
I come to Pelican for the BMW content and the R1100S forum and I currently have enough forum areas to look through without adding more. I think that if the OT area is split it will just create an area that doesn't get visited and everyone will migrate to the one area again.
I'm not interested in all the political debate that the yanks are having at the moment but occasionally something pops up that I do find interesting and I read further.
Generally it's easy to just read the subject headings and decide to read or not. Besides, the political stuff will probably settle down when the election and 7 re-counts are completed.

I really appreciate Pelican for supplying such a service but when it comes to the crunch this is an Automotive site and everything else is OT.

Oh yes, in support of Motion's idea, perhaps an easy way to search / sort by babe content?

I think the way to do it is to allow each user name to start 1 and only 1 new thread on the OT forum every "X" amount of days or some specific amount of time. That way we can avoid cut and paste articles from other news sources, 38 new threads a week by the same people, and the same nonsensical rants day in and day out. I like the OT forum, but if people had to make their post count rather than rehashing the same garbage every day it just might filter out some of the repetitive bash Kerry bash Bush nonsense...

I wanted to wait until September to get that thing officially going - too many folks are on vacation in August!

Regarding splitting up the forums: I say we wait until 1 month after the election to see if we need to separate the forums.

Whatever Wayne says is ok with me. But maybe we should add another section: "Miscellaneous Ramblings of Tabs: a man of wealth and taste."

When a political thread exceeds one page in length, the moderator replaces every other post with podium girl pics.

I think there needs to be a word randomizer. Whenever "Bush", "Kerry", "religion", or "god" are used, they are replaced by another pool of words to be determined by a senate subcommittee.

How about an 'R' rated picture section - and I volunteer to moderate

Boobie thread would rock tho!
I nominate Nostatic (again) for OT Moderator when the time comes.
I hardly read the political threads anymore - same boring bs

Wayne - can I get my screen name changed to 'expat' (drop the HK) now I'm living in LALA land?
