Is there anyway to hurry up on the election? I'm bored to tears with the mudslinging and you-really-didn't-get-wounded crap. Not one thing the say has anything to do with running a country.

On the forums: Whatever you do, Wayne, the politikers will snipe at the first opportunity even on the thimble thread. OT is OT and it is a wasteland for the most part. The recycle bin of the Pelican Forums.

seems it already is split up.

I think that much of this political banter will subside in a few months. (though a lot of us, on both sides, really enjoy the point-counter-point -- obviously)

I think that those troubled by the political stuff need not click on any title containing "Bush, Kerry, Conservative, liberal, Haliburton, Hillary, War, terrorists . . .

If you do split further, where does the topic of health care fit . . . or road tax. . .or. . .

You know that some of the same people whining about "too much politics" are going to be whining about this, that, or the other topic has gotten "too political" for their liking.

aside: thanks for the new "Valid file extensions" . .for the attachments.

Thumbs up

And that, Ladies and Dobermen, is a lesson in Democracy in action!

Wayne ROCKS!!

After November when Kerry is elected, things will quiet down. Even the conservatives will be better off, (just like w/ Clinton), and there will be peace in the valley.

Wayne,
your doing a great job, the board (OT) is split just right.
And your right people like da "Z-MAN" do a good job.

Perhaps theres still fallout from the R OT list going members only.

Leave ot as is. We don't need more forums.

What might be a fun idea is something done on another forum I follow where for the payment of a small fee one can buy a title for a week (or longer) for another poster

Good point Zeke. Z-Man is great at keeping things in order here, but deleting, moving, or splitting threads that start out as orchids/thimbles and evolve into religion/politics is going to be a lot of work around here.

I like Todd's idea of randomly inserting other names in political threads. When someone types "Kerry" is a &%$#@*&, randomly replace with Bush, Nader, Lex Luthor, Muhammad Ali, etc.

I made a feable attempt to bump a couple of redeaming threads (the mullet one may have legs)... but this forum has been a little yucky for quite a while now. I'm afraid if you took a poll to seperate the political stuff... the only folks left here are the ones that like to beat each other over the heads with politics.

I'd prefer it if the forums were separated. You have to remember that this is a world-wide forum and not everyone is intensely interested in American politics.......
