From what I understand, he really is nuts. That's OK though, I have a couple friends who are nuts. We usually talk baseball and movie trivia though as it keeps their episodes to a minimum vs politics.

All due respect, Thom, but that video is garbage. It twists around the timeline of the event and the words Bush and others said during those events to make him seem uninformed on nonreactive. Plainly, that's unfair. If Bush "knew" so be it. Maybe he did, but have you ever stopped to consider that he may not have known about WTC? Something was going to happen, sure, but who knew where, when and how.

In the long run, schlock like this video accomplishes one thing - it makes the Dems as mean as hateful as the Dems say the Republicans are. What the **** is the good of that? Is the point here to fracture the country even further than it is already?

I think its reprehensible that a disaster such as 9/11 has been used by both sides as propaganda against each other. This is truly a low point.

Although I admit they've had their moments, through more than one administration (not just Dems or Clinton), I think saying we have the most corrupt government on earth is a little irrational.

Let's face it, although a great deal of our policy makers bow down to special interest groups that get people killed (like the tobacco industry for instance), our government could be a lot worse.

At least they don't openly kill citizens in the streets in front of women and children.

Although our economy is a little more sluggish than some prosperous recent years, and our leaders can't seem to come together long enough to fix it, at least our government has a system at all.

Considering all the people the government have to support, and nurse back to health, and feed; I think it's fair to say we are lucky to have what we do, and instead of sometimes acting like spoiled children not getting our ways, be greatful that we have any public resources at all. They're plenty of countries making a lot of money in the Middle East right now who's people have nothing.

This is all of course IMHO, as I am at times guilty of being ungrateful too.


And as for all of you, I'd suggest toning down the name-calling and direct insults. We are sharing opinions here. We're all stuck in the same mud hole, we just have different ideas of how to get out.

But although sharing opinions is part of the first amendment, the amendment also makes clear that opinions are fine as long as they don't interfere with others "life, liberties, and the pursuit of happiness".

I hope I don't need to remind you guys that one of our most taken for granted liberties is "freedom from persecution". And being offensive or malicious to someone else is persecution.

Keep it clean, or I will report this post. You gents are all more than smart enough to have an intelligent debate without resorting to name-calling.
