Yes she seems awfully level-headed to me, Fint, and perhaps more mature than most of us. Kinda like TW. And it looks like her information is good too. Those "talking points" you mentioned.....would they be akin to what I hear daily coming from the talking heads who listened to Rush that morning?
A friend of mine, a hopelessly devoted political independent, listens to Rush each morning, and also watches Fox News, etc. He calls it "taking one for the team." And each day he goes out into the world and hears the phrases that people learned that morning. Twice he has provided me with the same experience, and it is hilarious what lemmings these people are. Now, let's get back to the subject at hand. Sure, CC is a hottie in several ways, but I didn't hear you say one single thing about that stunning black dress. (BTW, the old Superman seems to be largely back. Yes, I went ballistic for several months, but right now you guys can go back to imagining a huge smile on my face as I compose these responses. In other words, hey, I'm not really serious about all I say. Sure, I swallow but that's about it. No seriously, you cannot even be sure that's me in the handsome grey hair and sensational spaghetti-strap floozy dress.) But one thing is for sure. I've had way too much coffee today.

Lubedude, the story is: I came here roughly five years ago when this place was small but wonderful. Over the years, I developed a reputation for being helpful and witty. I would probably agree that I can twist a phrase. And terribly peace-loving. I was once told I have a great deal of Libra in my star chart, meaning that I will always vigorously choose peace, even if it means war. Well, it came to war several months ago. I found the OT forum and jumped in with both feet. It was tough, but relatively respectful for a while. Then came a personality called "Mulholland" and I dropped my "Let's all get along" song, and just joined in the fray. It got fairly nasty.
Returning to normal now. And I don't care whether I get my reputation back again or not. What I do care about is whether people understand that the evil Superman is resting just under the surface. I'm not going to idly tolerate the kind of nastiness that was here for the last several months. I'll prefer a scorched Earch. The way I see it, we can talk respectfully......or not. The choice is ours.

any chance we will see the bizarro Superman? I'm only a few months into this world and it is ripe with great banter, witty sarcasim and its fair share of butt heads - interesting to note, different population hangs out in engine rebuild forum v. Tech v. OT. Very few cross pollinate

Most of us never came to "Off Topic" till the last year. I followed a "moved" thread here once and found several guys had "ganged up" on another regarding a military issue that I was familiar with....unfairly IMHO. Naturally, I joined in. It seems that the political battles just take up the time we normally allotted to the tech threads.

Many non-liberals do, however, listen to Fox News...It is too difficult to watch the other stations for very long due to their far left, anti-american perspective. Fox is reasonably fair and balanced.

Be that as it may, the hilarious observation is that, in the morning, Rush will use certain catch-phrases. And then when you go out into the world and chat with folks, you can hear those same phrases over and over and over again. Next day, it's different phrases. But each day they are echoed by the populace.
The only liberals who listen to Rush are the ones who are "taking one for the team." And at the rist of pissing you off, I'd add that it's just as hilarious to me, to hear folks suggest that all the news organizations in the world, indeed all the countries of the world, are somehow clinically twisted in their thought patterns......but that one TV news station and forty-something percent of American voters, are sane by contrast. That one gets funnier each time I hear it.

Oh and LubeDude, if you are new here and have the time, yes there is quite an archive of witty and very collegial stuff here. We've been a very tight community. Until this year, on this (OT) forum.
If it's still there, the thread discussing bunnies is more than hilarious. I think the thread starter was probably Leland Pate. Also, Leland's Pimpmobile is extraordinary. Oh, and my favorite "engineering" thread is the one where folks show their solutions for the dipstick-falling-into-the-oil-tank problem. It's a classic. I think it's at least four pages, with photos and drawings.

Fox news..(not opinion shows like O'Reilley, etc), whether you like it or not...if the most fair available. That is why they are rapidly taking over in market share.

Good comments Supe. I also like all of the SCWDP threads, some of them are really good. Pretty much most of the threads Lelands starts on the Tech forum turn out good. All of Jacks BB threads tend to be good as well...
The jewel of the OT forum has got to be the Random Pics threads though. Bill |

No, I have not forgotten Nostatic's entry into the lions' den. It is hard for me to imagine a more secure or courageous poster, or even a poster with a greater sense of humor. My hat's still off.

You guys are a HOOT! Been watching this thread for a while and its really good entertainment. Wish some of the guys could be around a girl without focusing on boobs or "swallowing" ... Guess its because I used to live in Denmark and sex and a persons body is, well, kinda natural and not a big deal. America is just a different world in this area and not always good...
Wonder if Keri has a 911, wants a 911 or is just crazy enough to like guys who like P-cars? Feel for her as she lives up in the cold country but more concerned that she has these liberal leanings. Cute or not (which really within reason does not matter, those of us who have been married realize that a nice personality and being a good friend means more... a lot more) at least she is willing to dive into a discussion and say what she feels. Wonder why we have had two ladies from the Windy City get on the list recently?? Liz just popped up recently... need to get these two together. BTW Keri, its not true about what they say about Republicans. We do think and often but sometimes we get a headache and stop for a while. "who is John Galt"... JoeA
