TIG is priceless. I love my machine. Bought it brand new, a Miller syncrowave 180. Its air cooled stock, and i was doing alot of thicker material/higher duty cycles so i made a water tank, installed a pump, and bought a water cooled tip and lines and converted. Paid $1800, then a few years later another $300 for all the water coversion parts.

MIG is the next machine i need. For doing simple car and around the shop quick steal stuff, and the price is easier to justify.

For car body work too, MIG is much better than TIG. Cars are dirty, and with all of the paint coatings and oils seeping in over the years, MIG is great at getting along with impurities.

PS. TIG already has stick capabilities built in.

Clarke is OK if you're only going to weld sheet-metal and nothing else. I personally tried to weld some 1/8" steel with the 130 amp Clarke. It has NO penetration! Three welds one inch long would not hold the two pieces together.
I wouldn't own a Clarke. They also make Sears' welders. You can call 800-227-9603 and choose which brand welder to further direct your call.....
