Thanks for all the replies! I like to keep the tab under $500. It looks like there is a lot of different options. The biggest problem in Phoenix is that it only cools down to around 90 degrees in the late, late eve, early morning during the hottest months. I'd like to bring in cooler outside air except it never gets that cool. I've been googling all your suggestions.

I bought the 2 ton A/C unit for about $450 add in the wiring for 220V power and it was about $500. Since your garage is a little smaller and you have lower humidity you could use a smaller unit, maybe even a 110V unit.
