Well you got the idea. I pulled those numbers out of my ass, to say the truth. Now, I did a little research and found an interesting table here: http://www.finfacts.com/biz10/hourlycostproductionworkers.htm
I was actually not far from the truth for the ratio of salaries, as in 2003, a salary of $100 in the US was $11 in Mexico, for a worker in the manufacturing industry. So when they make $10/h here, they`d make $1.1/h over there, roughly. Aurel

And U wonder why US companies are going over the Board to set up factories...
I've known this for at least 20 years now: After WW2 the US had the ONLY industrial plant in the world that was intact and we could charge what we wanted, and the American worker made BANK....Over the decades not only was the industrial plant rebuilt in the industrial nations that were destroyed but the US has faced increasing competion from nations that have developed themselves. This has all put pressure on the American standard of living. THE AMERICAN STANDARD OF LIVING IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO DECLINE....it will eventually will reach some kind of parity with the rest of the world. Another disturbing fact is that America is not turning out the Engineers and Scientists that it once did...Americans got lazy after WW2, we had it made, We're Americans and DESERVE the GOOD LIFE...gone is the same work and sacrafice ethic that got America to the top. And why do I say that...just take a look at the credit card debt in America....

Listen Bush has ALWAYS been a fiscal conservative...so WHY would a fiscal conservative open the check book and start throwing money up in the air...SOMETHING had to happen to change his views and that change was 911....it opened up the ABYSS...and to prop up the system the spending was/is needed....
The Euro/$$$ thing was mighty important...but Wolfowitz, Perle, Rummy and Cheney all have had a hard on for Sadam for years...and apparently so has Bush the Younger...

Basically Nostatus you seem to be in agreement with me that the USA has slipped into this quasi Multi-National corporation world goverence thing....where the corp has bought off the political system with $$$$ and manipulates the media so the sheep follow...
Give them Bread and the Circus.....give em their home in suburb with the SUV and Big Screen TV...and they will be happy little sheep.....and little by little they give up their FREEDOM for a little safety...Oh please won't you just leave me alone to watch my TV in my own Living Room...and U can't opt outa the system cause you got DEBT...House payments, Car Payments, Credit Card payments.......all to keep up with what the media tells you will make you happy...and when you wake up in the mornining with that disquieting feeling that all is not well with the world thay got a little pill for you called Prozac....

I get angry with people sometimes...because they choose to remain ignorant....remain Blind.....I don't know what to do about the system as it stands..it has brought us the people an unparreled standard of living with all the modern conviences we enjoy...it costs us environment degredation as a price to pay for this standard of living...but beyond that I just think that people should open their eyes as to what is really happening...at least you can then play the game heads up...

Then in America...U have the 2 political parties fighting over who gets to put their snout into the trough of the Public Treasury....and whoa onto the party that is outa favor....they get desperate and will DO ANYTHING (even to put the very system at risk) to get their snout into that trough to keep their clientel satiated ....especially now....in the old days the trough was awash with 150 years of acculmulated wealth so there was enough to go around...
