He just received an award for his long time legislative funding support of the Internet's development. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I have to agree with Leland,
When I stated lurking here the political/religious threads were few and far between. Now they have taken over the board.

Has anyone EVER changed the political or religious position after a discussion on the BBS?

So we are just arguing for the sake of arguing which dose make us look like a bunch of self absorbed, egotistical, wankers.

Trashing cars belongs on the technical board. This forum is strictly for trashing people.

Lets stay on topic people!

Seriously, if you want to see a bunch of childish jerks, head over to democraticunderground.com. We're tame next to them.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.

I've not gone soft. I guess I just want everyone to respect the opinions of others. There is just so much trash talking going on (on both sides) it gets a little disapointing. I'm not a hall monitor. I didn't even sleep at a holiday inn express last night. I probably got a little upset that politics seemed to be leaching into the Vegas Pelican gathering. It just seemed to me it was creating an even deaper divide in an already divided country. Someone already posted my big boo-boo. Hey, I was about 19 years old when I posted that "I hate Democrats" thread. But I learned from it. I've not done anything like it again. I learned very quickly the internet is not the best forum for stuff like that. And we all know personalities, tone, and intentions often get lost in written script.
Jim didn't speak to me for two weeks after that.

Regardless, this place did not used to be as aggressive as it has become. Times change.
I'm over it.
