Vash - didn't mean to imply that you were shallow. Lord only knows I would like to see my bride bust down to size she was (if only for fantisy sake). I think if she was tiny again, she would feel really good about herself and that would reflect on her personality. One of the reasons young people have as much sex as they do - they feel great about their bodies. Try as you might, you will nevr convince a women that you love her and find her just as sexy now as you did when you first bumped uglies when you were young.

Alright, I 'll go now.
I went through a divorce when I turned 30(8years ago). Not messy but still weird anyway.
I decided that I was going to get any chicks being "tubby" I am 5'7" and I weighed in at 200#. I lost 55# in about 7 months, just by eating better and LESS. I quit smoking at the same time I started this. I was a route driver and walked all day long so I got my excercise automatically.
I was promoted to manager in 2 years later and met my current wife. We led adventurous lives before we were married and had the dog, kid, house, etc. I have gained back around 40 # and a couple of pant sizes. Most people tell me you are in a good marriage if you are "tubby". Blah Blah, Blah!!!
I am determined to drop 20 # by Christmas. I sometimes think I am part chick as I feel good when I lose a couple of pounds. Trust me, it is not for anyone else but myself and my wife. She's pregnant now and I still find her hot in "wifey" way. Thanks for listening. I am off to the garage to jump rope. WOO HOO!!!!

EDIT: A slimmer me means a faster 911.

WTF? do women just get their man, and let go? DAMN.

Answer is, sure, some women do, some men also do same, but many don't.

When I was 18 and went in the Army I was 5'8" and 155 lbs. 32 years later, as of tonight, I am still 5'8", but now weigh 162 lbs. Could probably lose those extra 7 pounds, but ah what the hell.

When I was in High School I was 5'7" and weighed 127lbs....got married and had two kids....weighed 20lbs more after the second kid...lost it when he was 11 months old....then during the dreaded "peri-menopausal period" when we ladies have hormone changes affecting our metabolism......I gained 30 lbs and weighed in at 160 ish lbs! That was 3 years ago and I lost it and now (and for the last 3 years) am still 5'7" and weigh 127lbs

I work in health care so I am always moving and taking the stairs in the hospitals....but honestly...I stay in shape for me and because it makes me feel good!

Hubby doesn't mind it either

When I was 28, I had a 28 waist. When I was 30 I had a 30 waist. When I was 32 I had a 32 waist and said to myself, "that's it." I still have a 32 waist. I never could go for a fat chick. I did, and do feel uncomfortable around them. I think If I were married to a girl that gained a lot of weight, it would make me rethink the relationship. It's just a feeling.

Pick up a 20lb weight and carry it around for a while. I gained a bit of weight a while back and had to diet to get it off. Loosing 10 lbs makes a world of difference as to how you feel. I cannot imagine how good it feels to loose 20-40 lbs.

I try to hit the gym in the morning before work 3 times a week.

I am a small guy like you and try to keep my weight in the 155-160 range with the muscle mass I have now. I had at one point weighed 175 with a 29 inch waist, those days are long gone. I also weighed 170 with a 35" waist, it all fell from my chest!!

You also hit the nail on the head. Racing the car and being a small guy gives me an advantage at 5'7" I can easily weigh 155 lbs a 6'+ guy is lucky to be 190-210. That gives me a 50 lb weight advantage before I get in the car.

Yeah, I'm 6' tall and I've fluctuated by around 15lb (between 155lb and 170lb) between 18 and 30yo (now) - I was under 160lb when 18 and am currently there now. The difference was muscle (going to the gym lots) so I had extra muscle to carry around the extra weight. I cannot imagine the stress of carting it around in fat with the same skinny ass muscles I have now.

I cannot gain weight, no matter what I eat or how much. That was the case when I graduated from high school, and that's apparently still the case now. Well, I guess I have gained 20-25 lbs in the thirty years since high school. I guess I have one of those metabolisms. Also, I don't like to sit and do nothing.

You wanna lose weight? Follow a five year-old around and do what they do.

No doubt as you age it is harder to maintain your weight, but 40lbs="happy fat" ? seems to me 40lbs= throw-in-the-towel
