Years ago, the second time I ordered from Pelican, Steve took my order. This was before I knew anything about him. He offered to bring the stuff down to his house to pick all the stuff up so I don't have to pay shipping. I thought great. He lived less then 10 minutes from where I worked at the time so I picked the stuff up at his house no problems there. But he was just a bit odd. You know how you talk to someone, and you feel weirded out by their body language, and wonder why they are telling you things. He told me how he was leaving Pelican for a great opportunity at Otto's setting up a website to sell off their used parts inventory. Everything was great between him and Pelican though.
Knowing he was lieing through his teeth explains why I felt a weirded out. He told me to call him at Otto's to get a good deal on used parts. I never did. |

My Favorite Steve moment, when he challenges a VW to a race for pink slips in his 560SL down the toll roads.

i also heard his wife was in to freaky things too by another member here. something about, never mind. well i will give you this, it rhymed with corn.

I knew Steve from a ways back. He has always been an "entrepreneur." Maybe a little ADHD there too. I've got a little of that going on....takes on to know one.
![]() After Pelican and Otto, he went to Einmalig for a bit. That didn't work out either. Steve has a lot of knowledge about Porsches and apparently has been around them for a long, long time. He just can't work for anyone; he needs self employment. Like red beard, I know a little about the guy, but there's no need to go into it. Steve is a very intelligent person. That doesn't make anything right, I know. I just feel sorry for the man. I think things just caught up with him. I just hope he gets straightened out before he ends up really screwing up and going away. |
