Yeah, let's forget the fact that Roethlisberger clearly never made it to the end zone which the officials clearly saw. What about 70 yards in penalties for us and 20 yards for Pittsburg. Definately some bogus calls.

Or let's just forget 21-10.

21-10 is a score that would have never been if the game was called correctly. If the officials would have called the "magic touchdown" by Roethlisberger correctly it would have changed the pace of the whole game.

Why was Hasselbeck’s tackle illegal?

As a friend of mine said - the Superbowl is 10 minutes of action CRAMMED into 4 hours of TV.

I just watched some of the game for the TV commercials.

If you OBJECTIVELY look at the replay from the goal line camera, you can see the ball cross the plane before Rothlisberger gets pushed back. If the officials would have been so blind as to overrule this TD, they would have had to spot the ball on the goal line. A QB sneak would have gotten it in on the next play.

I wonder how the officiating had anything to do with two missed field goals, 4 dropped passes by the Hawks tight end, horrendous clock mismanagement at the end of the first half, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention how many punts sailing into the end zone giving the Steelers the ball on the 20 instead of pinning them deep.

Try again next year.

You can "what if" any game to death and it still won't change the outcome. And the ball did break the plane prior to him getting pushed back.

Hasselback's tackle, I believe shouldn't have been called. I think from the ref's vantage point he thought Hasselback was putting a cut-block on one of the blockers, when after seeing it from a different angle, it showed he was trying to tackle the ball carrier low--which is legal.

Alan Faneca got called / penalized for that same type of tackle after an interception in a Steeler game earlier this season so seeing Hasselbeck get a penalty for it didn't upset or surprise me too much. Faneca too was making a tackle on the interceptor and also took out a blocker, like Hasselbeck.

Call me crazy but if the ball only needed to cross the end zone plane wouldn't our touchdown with one foot in the end zone count?

Even in the air it didn't cross the line.

I think the refs should have stood and accepted the trophy along with the rest of the Steelers.

Not on receptions--1 foot in=not a catch.

Hmmm, I just checked. The Steelers are still the World Champions.

I did. The most interesting opionions were:

Holmgren handled the clock as well as Mike Martz.

The only thing Jackson caught was a case of the drops.

Stevens showed that Porter got into his head.

But, you are right, the Steelers are terrible--the worst team in the NFL--they only beat the Bengals, Bears, Vikings, Colts, Broncos........and, um---yeah the Seahawks.

I guess it just depends on where you're from. If you were from around here you would see it the way I do.

All I can say is that I saw it for what it was, a Pittsburgh Steelers victory.

I would say the Steelers are the least talented team to win it all since the Ravens. They are simply not that good of a team, they simply rode an impressive lucky streak. Just about every bounce went their way for 4 games straight. Good for them and all, but they didn't earn this one the way they many before them have.
