Which car(s) to get rid of?

Gettting another new car, 06 Mini Cooper "S". Problem is I already have to many cars and I really should get rid of one or more of the ones I have.

Which ONE would youall suggest?

The 69 912 is my first thought or the 65 , but thats a rare bird and who knows it might become worth over 10K someday. The MB is just to darn reliable to ever get rid of, the M635 Never. The Caddy, well its the only truck and it tows the 66 912Race car. The 325ic is the only convertable. What to do? Is 8 cars REALLY to many?

Forget about the Mini, it's not that great.

You can never have too many cars.

Sell your less valuable/less original 912 or the 325.

And I thought I was a car junkie! Don't get rid of anything unless you really need to.

True, I don't NEED to get rid of any of them, but I AM married, and I do have neighbors that seem to think I am starting a car lot on my property. Since I don't care about the neighbors, but I do want to stay married, I suspect, I need to do something. The Mini is faster than some of the other cars I have, so its a consideration I have to keep in mind. Two of the Porsches are worth about the same, the Race car is over valued and priced, so I guess I must keep it.

I am in a similar boat, but I have a 50 x 80 building to store vehicles in.
Along with the vehicles in my signature, I also have a Toyota Tacoma 4X4 (a guy has to have a truck to haul stuff in), a 69 Chevelle 396 (actually the wife's and she won't part with it, so it sits), Honda Interceptor, 4 motocross bikes, 3 airplanes, Polaris 4-wheeler, a couple tractor/mowers, Bobcat, fork lift and a snowmobile. Just keeping all these vehicles in running condition is about a full time job not to mention the license fees and insurance.

My wife wants me to sell my 944 turbo (which I just repainted last fall)... not gonna happen! I say keep the old rarer stuff. I do not think the Bimmer is ever going to be much of a classic so maybe you should dump it while it still has some value?

The thing that is killing me is insurance on multiple vehicles coupled with my two teen daughters driving.

Is there a medication for this toy collecting illness?!?

I actually put in a gravel parking lot. Right now I have 2 1956 bugs, a 1961 double cab, 1960 panel, 1968 single cab, '66 bug pan and body (separated, so it has the footprint of two cars), a '77 911, Hayden's 911, and an E36 M3, which actually lives in the attached garage, so I guess that doesn't count

Jack, we'd have been kinder to the Mini if you were agonizing about keeping a classic one.

I don't like the classic minis, mostly because they embarres me when they pass me on the race track. The new one is much much more reliable since its really a BMW

I know plenty of women that think the new Mini (BMW) is cute. But, I think the old Mini rocks.

I kick myself to this day for not having video in mine the one time I tracked it. Nothing short of amazing. I was driving a C-5 owner nuts all day long pushing him aroud the track, he could not shake me loose.

I think the next generation MINI sucks coming out with the '07 model year. The car is already too big in my book and is getting bigger and they are going from supercharger to turbo and I think that is a big mistake.

Snowman - your buying the last good year of the new MINI.

I'd can push my MINI faster than I could drive any 912. Get rid of your 2 crappiest 912s, or maybe 1 of the 912s and 1 of the BMWs.

I have a 05 Cooper S - it's the perfect daily driver. Zippy, manuverable, all the essential electronic do-dads.

You guys 'dissin the Mini must have "Cooper Envy"

Honestly, it's a really nifty car. And it enables me convert a 993 into a track car.

Sweet, is the Chevelle a auto or manual? When I bought my 911 years ago I was also considering getting a 68-70 chevelle, upgrading the suspension and adding 4 wheel disk brakes so I could have classic looks, sound, power with decent more modern handling and stopping. If it's a 4 speed then send it to me. I'll make sure it gets driven from time to time. Wouldn't want the wifey's car to sit and atrophy.

You could send me one of the porsches too if you need to. And what model year are the daughters (crap, did I say that outloud? j/k) I understand, my stepdaughter is 21 and my stepson is 22. The insurance goes down, but when you add college you are right back where you started.

Yep, those old mini's rock. The new mini's are cute and probably make a really fun daily driver, but I'd really LOVE to have something like the one in the pic for the occasional fun car.

It is a 4 speed. At a sustained 70 mph, it feels like the big block 396 is revving it's guts out! The gearing is fine for 55mph, but 70-80 sustained just feels wrong in this car. It will get "scratch" in all 4 gears on the right kind of pavement (actually just a slight "chirp" in fourth). The damn thing wheel hops like a mother in first and second (I think the suspension joints are all ineed of a rebuild). I just despise the car, but it was my wife's first husband's (deceased) pride and joy. I got it running for a couple of summers about 7-8 years ago (had the heads re-done and replaced the transmission) and I just cannot get into the whole muscle car thing (it is the only American car we still own). I still start and drive it a few times a year to keep things moving, but I have no interest in doing much with it presently. I wish she would agree to sell it, but that is never going to happen!
