Go to Tractor Supply, buy a gallon of Remedy. Apply per instructions. RU is kool aid.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. I've applied RU three times now mixing all the way up to 10oz/gallon. I think it MIGHT be working now. But I'll try that Remedy stuff next time......

The main active ingredient in Roundup is Glyphosate isoproplymine salt...lots of weed killers out there have GIS as the active ingred. But since you already have R/U...

Be mindful of the American approach - More is better. ;)

You don't want to over-mix it - adding more than the label instructs you to do.
If so, you risk the GIS burning the tops and killing the vascular tissues in the above-ground parts of the plants (top kill). The plant may look like it's dying, but in fact, the quickly-dead above-ground tissues are no longer able to translocate the killer agent down into the roots where weed kill must occur.

Good luck...be patient.

10 ounces per gallon is a monstrous concentration. You shouldn't need more than 1 ounce per gallon. This stuff takes time.

Round Up also produces a product designed for killing Poison Ivy and other more hearty weeds/plants.

I had an issue with a bunch of Poison Ivy growing in the woods behind my yard that regular Round Up wouldn't touch. I sprayed the Poison Ivy version out there and it killed it dead, pretty quickly.

Also, check at Home Depot, or whatever store you're using, and see if they have a product called Image. It's rather expensive (@ $15.00/16 oz.) but this stuff is touted to be able to kill your heartier weeds, including nutsedge, and the like.

As good, and economical, as this brew?

:)

What Don said about GIS!

Keep in mind also that RU is a POST emergent killer and it does not kill seed. After killing off the stuff with RU (or similar) you will also need a pre-emergent killer to stay in the ground and keep killing stuff. Otherwise, your weeds will keep coming back every 20 to 60 days (depending upon your local conditions).

Remedy, by Dow Chemicals, has an active ingredient of Triclopyr ester in a kerosene base carrier. Triclopyr is considered a "safe-to-grass" herbicide, and is designed to kill weeds from pasture land. So if your patio growth is grass, this may not be your best choice.

Actually that is exactly what I use. I got a nozzle that screws onto a standard propane torch tank and it loops over and extends out about 3 ft. I light it and can walk along toasting the weeds. Works great. Doesn't stain or mar bricks or concrete.

vinegar works well too, and then you don't have to kill everything else.

Seriously though. Spread "Corn Gluten Meal" all over your patio and it will be good to go.

It might take a small leap of faith to think that R/U might not be the answer but just look at your results and every other post on here about how to get a stronger response.

Wouldn't you then be replacing the weeds with bird crap? :D :p

Did you sweep sand into the gaps between the pavers? Manufacturers suggest mixing granular pre emergent with sand and sweeping into place.
