Leave Somalia Alone!

Figures this would happen, the little fuhrer in the White House intends on meddling everywhere. And is now assisting in killing and death squads in this small country.
US Secretly Backing Warlords in Somalia

Doing whatever necessary to stop the spread of the islamo-fascists is probably a good idea.

I don't like the idea of the U.S. meddling around in the ROW either, but until this nation gets off its butt and starts developing MEANINGFUL renewable energy alternatives, we're going to be dependent on oil with all of the baggage that goes along with it (infidels on holy soil, etc.)

I don't like this either, but can certainly see how it might be considered "necessary". When the alternative is (yet another) nation under the banner of religious wack-jobs that want to kill anyone that doesn't believe in their interpretation of Islamic Law, I suppose it's the lesser of two evils.

Since Somalia isn't a problem, this meddling is all about power, extreme dislike of the Clan form of government (the reason England continually invaded Scotland) with it's decentralization, and because they can meddle. It's nothing to do with oil. It's about expanding the control of the empire.

Further, since the US gets no more than 7-8% of its' oil from the mid-east, there's no reason to meddle at near the level that's in progress.

It needs to stop NOW.

We should be careful, we once thought fighting the Soviets in Afgahanistan was more important than keeping training and weapons from religious nut jobs. Look where that got us.

Yeah, that really worked out with the Saddam vs. Osama thing.

It's one thing not to read books and learn from history. It's another not to learn from one's own mistakes.

From what I can see, everytime we pit one party against another to satisfy some short term goal or interest, the result has been long term failure. This includes economic considerations, not just military.

Is this the time to post a smarmy quote about not learning from history and being doomed to repeat it?

I didn't have a Somalia cartoon. That said, they all look alike to me.

Point is the UN is useless and, therefore, certain actions require our intervention.

no, the point is that you are ignorant

The second point being that the US government had better leave Somalia alone, got it? Good.

We should let the UN do their usual pitiful thing with our usual 40% dues to their pitiful organization. The US needs to quit being the "Peacekeeper" of the world.

We've needed to be out of the US since 1949, it's been nothing but a cover for US, British, French, and other countries world domination from the beginning. Not to mention the darling of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission; both of which the Bush family supports.

The John Birch Society had it pegged from the beginning.
