Any of you that live in a state bordering Canada know how serious this has gotten. Just try to find parking in any lot of any mall in any town anywhere close to the border (like Bellingham for example) on a weekend. It simply cannot be done. The Canadians are there. Spending millions and loading up on contraband groceries, clothing, lawn furniture, and the like. And if that isn't enough, they might even stop by the dentist to get their kid's braces adjusted and, horror of horros, actually pay the guy.
Yup tech, you are right once again. Twice in one week; I'm detecting a trend. We must first stop this overwhelming threat from the North, before we can address the relatively benign one from the South. Not a moment to lose; American citizens may, after all, take note of this unnacceptable situation. A relatively open border, shared with polite, law-abiding neighbors in a lawful, mutually advantageous relationship, stands as a horrible contrast to our Southern border. This cannot be allowed to continue. |

what about our western border? I've lost count of the people I've seen coming out of the ocean here. They must be poor illegals...hell, they barely have any clothes on their backs!

Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked. |
Canada should build the wall. I used to live in Windsor (aka South Detroit) and there would be lineups at the walk-in clinics of Americans looking for free healthcare. You could easily buy under-the-table Ontario health cards to get free medical care.
Personally, I prefer the U.S. as Canada caters to the lazy and/or unemployed. The less you do, the more you get. There is a lack of drive in our society to work harder given the tax situation and the way the unemployed/underemployed are treated. Said like a true Porsche driver..... |

I have to confess that I did not actually read the article. I just stumbled onto it when I was searching for something unrelated. I assumed that it dealt w/ the carnage to the eco-systems of the dessert in the U.S. southwest due to illegal crossings + border patrol activity chasing them. I am 100% in favor of a fence that works, it is a no-brainer unless you are in favor of the status quo.
|
IMHO a fence is just throwing money at the problem, we will spend billions building it and they will find a way over, under, or around it and nothing will change.
