Mostly I've noticed that everyone on the road today is a *****ty driver. Except for me.

Trust me, foreign sports cars aren't rare at all in NC....it's just that the idiots are very common

I had a young punk in a Volvo flying by people behind me as the road curved and split at a Y-intersection. Full lock sideways in the opposite lane before he cut back in my lane behind me. Not worth my time so I pulled over and waved him past. Don't know if he had a hard on for me or not and figured there was no reason to find out.

There aren't many Porsches in my part of the world but there are a lot of rednecks with pickup trucks. I've seen my share of aggressors but I've never had a problem with one. No matter what they do, I just ease over into the right hand lane, slow down to just a mile or two under the speed limit, and wait for them to go by. Never fails. I'm sure I'm the source of many "My Hemi smoked a Porsche!" stories, but I get so much enjoyment out of just being in MY Porsche that driving it at any speed is sheer joy and being rid of them safely and quickly makes it that much better.

When someone's riding my a$$ in the p-car I love to let 'em hang there for a little while and then reach down and turn on the headlights. They think you're hitting the brakes, and they usually slam on THEIR brakes. Priceless.

Try it, you'll like it!!

Ignore them like the vermin they are. Or do the Porsche thing and keep repeating the words "they are just jealous" to yourself. It worked for me.

My favorite in town is to let him tailgate me for a minute, then gun for road-divider and swerve away at last moment, then look in the back mirror and observe the idiot who was reading my license plate driving over the curb.

Fore me, just the opposite happens. Other cars leave me alone. Might have something to do with the whale tail and the turbo badge on the decklid.

One F-350 with 5 people in the single cab was 90 degrees from me at a light. They start gunning their diesel. As they turn right on red, they spool up the turbo intentionally as they drive by me, so I get this whooooosh sound square in my left ear. Lovely.

Ain't that the truth. I was watching a news feed of the PCH on satellite tv one time. It was a 10 or 15 sec clip and 4 Porsche went by.

Good story, but I think you're confused what Giant means. My Grandfathers 1977 Chrysler LeBaron 2 Door Coupe was the size of my Suburban.

On the other side of my family, my maternal Grandmother drove a 1972 Chrysler Newport. It was over a foot and a half longer, 6" wider and heavier than my Suburban. At least it was a sedan.

We have more horsepower now (on average). Cars frequently weigh more now - a new BMW M5 outweighs a 1969 Chevelle big block by almost a thousand pounds - but, cars were way bigger in the '70's.

My dads 1979 Plymouth Fury III was bigger than my Suburban.

Also, if you noticed a preponderance of MOPAR in the family - I had an uncle that was a Chrysler dealer. He went bust in the 1980's selling K-cars that couldn't make it out off the showroom floor without breaking down.
